i've made some test (i hate this automagical scripts)

`--> wget 'http://pypi.python.org/packages/source/s/simplejson/simplejson-1.9.1.tar.gz#md5=d2ee608bdf6397b82a7cd53c8602b29e'
`--> tar -xzpf simplejson-1.9.1.tar.gz
`--> cd simplejson-1.9.1
`--> python setup.py build
`--> mkdir -p /home/bot/sj/lib/python2.4/site-packages/
`--> cp simplejson -ar /home/bot/sj/lib/python2.4/site-packages/
`--> PYTHONPATH=/home/bot/sj/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ supybot Przekliniak.conf

as i suppose you can copy it into your standard site-packages directory
