Hi, I raised an Ubuntu bug, 234629, on supybot a little while ago because things like "!web title http://localhost/" means information that may normally be inaccessible from the Internet can be leaked. See the URL for slightly more detail. Anyway, it hasn't been "Confirmed" by a seconder yet so nothing will happen on it. Is this a known issue? I didn't see any warnings about using this plugin when I was configuring my first bot. I've raised a couple of other Ubuntu supybot bugs, quite possibly already fixed in the non-Ubuntu latest version, which are also in the same state: Ubuntu supybot bugs. Cheers, Ralph.

Have you tried to set supybot.plugins.Web.nonSnarfingRegexp?

You want something among the lines of this:
supybot.plugins.Web.nonSnarfingRegexp: m/(hostname|hostname.domain.tld|localhost|127.0.0.1)/
