We examined many options. We looked at the many possible Content Management Systems available. In the end, we chose Plone because it will let us serve you better.

We've transferred our documentation over to the new website, and it looks far better. We're still working on handling the transfer of our automatically-generated plugin/command documentation, but rest assured, it will be here at some point.

Perhaps one of the greatest advantages of this website (indeed, one of the advantages of using Plone) is that we are now able to offer our users a significantly better option for making their plugins available publicly. Not only can plugins be published here, but they can take advantage of all the features that makes Plone great in the first place; searching, workflow, etc. Additionally, we've added a simple issue tracker that will automatically be instantiated for each plugin added, so users will basically have a little mini-SourceForge at their disposal! To see an example of this "Supybot Plugin" content type in action, look at jemfinch's plugins .

We've also installed some forums on this website, and plan to move all our online discussion of Supybot here. Be prepared for the removal of the former forums!
